Ingredient Notes
Full ingredient measurements and instructions can be found in the recipe card below.
- Butter: I like using salted butter in my recipes, but whatever you have will work great.
- Sugars: You will be using both granulated and brown sugar for these cookies.
- Flour: If you have a scale I highly suggest weighing your flour. If you don't, lightly spoon yours into a measuring cup to make sure you don't compact it.
- Oreos: You will use both crumbs and broken oreo cookies for these cookies. I usually blend my oreos in my blender for crumbs, but you can also smash with a glass or a rolling pin.

Step by Step Instructions

- Step 1: Place butter and sugars in the bowl of a stand mixer, fitted with a paddle attachment. Beat on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Add egg and vanilla, mix until smooth on low speed, about 30 seconds.

- Step 2: Add salt, baking soda, oreo crumbs and flour and mix until combined. Fold in the mini chocolate chips, white chocolate chips and 2 oreo cookies that have been broken into small pieces.

- Step 3: Scoop the dough into large ¼ cup cookie dough balls. Top each cookie ball with a few extra oreo pieces.

- Step 4: Bake the cookies for 11-13 minutes. You're looking for a light golden brown outside rim. Sprinkle with flaked salt.
Expert Baking Tips
- You can sub in any type of chocolate chips that you prefer, and any flavor of oreo that sounds good!
- If your cookies don't come out in a perfect circle you can run a spatula around the edges right when they come out of the oven and manipulate the shape as needed.
- I have given both cups and grams as measurements. Grams will be more precise, especially when measuring flour. If you don’t have a kitchen scale, no problem! Just lightly spoon flour into your measuring cup to insure its not packed in there. Light and fluffy is the key.

FAQ
Yes, just sub in a gluten free 1:1 flour and gluten free oreo cookies.
The two main reasons cookies spread too thin is because the butter was too soft, or you didn't add quite enough flour.
Absolutely! I love that mini get dispersed better into the dough because they're so small, but any chocolate chips will work great!

Storing & Freezing
Cookies and cream cookies will remain fresh if stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. The oreo pieces on top will soften over time.
You can freeze your cookies in an airtight container for 2-3 months with them remaining fresh. You can also freeze the cookie dough balls if you would like to bake them one at a time.
