Hi! I’m Brooke. A southern California native who recently found myself living in Austin, Texas. I married my college best-friend, and now have three kids. And somewhere in the midst of raising them, folding laundry, soccer carpools, and too much Diet Coke, I decided to start this blog as a way to share my love language— SWEETS.
For as long as I can remember, being in the kitchen has been my happy place. From the early days of creating my own Easy-Bake Oven recipes, to holding bake-offs with college roommates, I could never escape the joy I felt when covered in flour, surrounded by sweet ingredients, and stealing too many bites of cookie dough! If there’s such a thing as too many.
Prior to relocating to Austin, I worked for 10 years as a pastry chef for Jake’s Palm Springs, where I created their well known Coconut Cake. But since our move, I couldn't figure out how to squeeze my way back into the baking world. Though I had always dreamed of owning my own bakery, I knew in my heart that the endless hours would steal precious time from my family.
In our house, baking homemade treats fills the rooms with warmth and tradition—happy hearts and tummies. Through these simple, yet delicious recipes, good chopped chocolate and a sprinkle of salt, I hope to inspire some of that same magic in YOUR home.
