CHOCOLATE DONUTS: In a large bowl whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, soda and salt until no clumps remain.
Add eggs, buttermilk, sour cream, vanilla and melted butter and whisk until combined.
Add batter to a large ziplock or piping bag and fill donut holes with batter. Bake for 7-8 minutes, or until you tap the donut and it springs back. Allow to cool in pan.
CHOCOLATE PEPPERMINT GLAZE: Add all glaze ingredients to a bowl and mix until combined.
Once donuts are cooled, dip the top of each donut in the glaze and then top with peppermint candies.
HELPFUL TIPS
These donuts taste best when fresh, if you are going to make them in advance, wait to frost and top with candies until right before serving.
I have given both grams and cups as measurements. Grams will always result in a more precise bake, and also allow for an easier clean up without as many dishes!

Did I miss the instruction to melt the chocolate chips? It seems like that would be necessary to make it a glaze. At any rate, I just mixed powdered sugar, cocoa, and milk to make a drizzle. Quick and easy recipe. They look great after baking!
