Oreo chocolate cream pie, a rich and silky-smooth chocolate filling topped with fresh whipped cream. The perfect dessert for chocolate lovers.
OREO CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE
When my friend shared this recipe with me I almost wasn't sure how I'd feel about it because it is made with pudding mixes, but I decided to try it out because I trust her taste buds, and oh my gosh... we fell in love with it. This has become my kids most requested pie for Thanksgiving, and I have friends who don't even like chocolate pies say this is amazing.
So anytime you are in need of a fast and easy no bake pie recipe this should be your go to!
INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR PIE
- Oreo's
- Butter
- Cook & Serve Chocolate Pudding
- Heavy Whipping Cream
- Whole Milk
- Cocoa Powder
- Espresso Powder
- Salt
INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR WHIP CREAM
- Heavy Whipping Cream
- Powdered Sugar
- Vanilla, I try to use vanilla paste because the flecks make it so pretty
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 F.
MAKE OREO CRUST:
In a food processor process Oreos and butter until it becomes a fine grainy texture. You can also crush oreos in a ziplock bag and then add butter and mix in a bowl.
Press into pie plate and bake for 8 minutes. Set aside and allow to cool completely.
MAKE CHOCOLATE PIE FILLING:
Empty both boxes of pudding mix into a large heavy saucepan. Stir in cream, milk, espresso powder and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and comes to a full boil. It will thicken more as it sets.
Remove from heat. Pour into oreo crust. Place plastic wrap directly on top of the pudding so that a film is not created on the top. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours to set.
MAKE WHIP CREAM:
Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
Spread whipping cream over the top of the pie and sprinkle chocolate shavings or curls on top.
DO I HAVE TO USE THE COOK & SERVE PUDDING?
Yes, for this particular recipe the instant pudding will not work the same.
CAN I USE A DIFFERENT KIND OF PIE CRUST?
You are welcome to use whatever pie crust you prefer for this. Originally I made it with my perfect flaky pie crust, but then tried it with an oreo crust and everyone loved it even more. Graham cracker crust would work well with this also.
A FEW THOUGHTS AND TIPS
The amount of liquid in this varies slightly from what it calls for on the box, so make sure you follow my ingredient amounts and not the ones on the box.
This is enough for a 9" deep dish pie, if you aren't using a deep dish you will be left with some chocolate filling. Just add to a bowl, chill and enjoy!

I made this for my family and then again for get together with my sisters family over the holidays. Perfect both times. Now I don’t have to hope that there’s chocolate cream pie at a gathering. I can just volunteer to bring it! Everyone loved it.

Can this be made ahead of time and stored?
brooke
It would be best made the day before, but two days would be fine also. The crust will start to soften a bit, but the filling will be totally fine.

Do you think this could be made in a 13x9 pan when doubling or tripling the recipe?
brooke
Yes, you could totally double it and make in a 9x13!
