Ingredients

  • cup (157.73 ml) heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup (113 g) light corn syrup
  • cup (73.33 g) brown sugar I prefer to use dark
  • ¼ cup (21.5 g) cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon (0.25 teaspoon) salt
  • 3 ounces (85.05 g) chopped chocolate bar I prefer milk chocolate
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 ounces (85.05 g) chopped chocolate bar I prefer milk chocolate

Instructions

  • Add heavy cream, corn syrup, brown sugar, cocoa powder, salt and 3 ounces of chopped chocolate to a medium saucepan.
  • Whisk ingredients over medium heat until it starts to boil, which should take about 5 minutes. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and continue cooking and whisking for another 5 minutes.
  • Remove saucepan from heat and add butter, vanilla and the remaining 3 ounces of chopped chocolate. Continue to whisk until all the butter and chocolate has melted.
  • Pour into a jar or container. Allow to cool completely and then store in the refrigerator.

Notes

This will make 2 cups total.
I prefer to use milk chocolate, but semi-sweet or dark chocolate is great too. It's more of a personal preference.
You can use chocolate chips instead of a bar.
