puff pastry apple galette


This puff pastry apple galette is an easier version of an apple pie, using a store bought puff pastry and a simple apple filling.


ingredients: -Puff Pastry -Apples -Brown Sugar -Cornstrach -Vanilla -Nutmeg -Salt -Cinnamon -Cloves -Lemon -Egg -Turbinado Sugar

STEP ONE: place apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt cornstarch and lemon juice in a saucepan.

STEP two: cook apples until the juices release and start to thicken.

STEP three: Roll out puff pastry dough and places cooked apples in the middle.

STEP four: Fold the extra dough, overlapping the apples.

STEP five: Brush the top and sides with egg and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.

STEP six: bake at 400 for 22-26 minutes, or until golden brown.

Allow to cool. Cut into slices and serve with ice cream.
