black chocolate cake


This black chocolate cake is made using black cocoa powder. It's rich, moist and naturally deep in color from the cocoa powder, without dyes.


ingredients: -Butter -Oil -Brown Sugar -Sugar -Eggs -Vanilla -Baking Soda -Baking Powder -Salt -Black Cocoa -Flour  -Buttermilk -Water -Powdered Sugar

STEP ONE: Whisk together flour, black cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt and both sugars.

STEP two: in another bowl whisk together oil, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla.

STEP three: Mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.

STEP four: Whisk in hot water or coffee and disperse into 3 cake pans.

STEP five: bake cakes at 325 for  25-30 minutes and then allow to cool.

STEP six: mix together butter, black cocoa powder, salt, vanilla, powdered sugar and milk until smooth and creamy.

STEP seven: Frost in between layers of cake and a little coating along the top and sides. Chill for  10-15 minutes.

STEP eight: Frost the cake with another layer of black cocoa buttercream and top with black sprinkles.

STEP nine: top with ghost peeps, or other halloween candy for extra spooky fun!
