banoffee cake


This banoffee cake is a sweet layered banana cake filled with fresh banana, toffee bits and chocolate shavings and frosted in a smooth dulce de leche buttercream.


STEP ONE: Mash bananas and stir in  1 tsp of lemon juice.

STEP two: cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs, oil, vanilla, sour cream and bananas.

STEP three: Alternate adding the dry ingredients and the buttermilk.

STEP four: pour batter into 3 round cake pans.

STEP five: bake cakes at 325 for 27 minutes. Cool.

STEP six: Mix together butter and dulce de leche until smooth. Add powdered sugar and cream and mix.

STEP seven: assemble cake by layering cake, buttercream, banana slices, toffee bits and chocolate shavings. 

STEP Eight: frost outside of the cake in more buttercream and top with dulce de leche, toffee and chocolate shavings.
